Ashok Saraf to be conferred with Maharashtra Bhushan award

Ashok Saraf: The Maharashtra Bhushan 2024             "Dhananjay Mane ithech raahtaat ka?"      D hananjay Mane ithech raahtat kaa? Every Maharashtrian laughs at this diaglogue histerically because this impromptu improvisation by actor Laxmikant Berde in the movie 'Ashi hi BanvaBanvi' reminds them their childhood. In the 80s Ashok Saraf and Laxmikant Berde worked together in several Marathi Comedy movies and most of them were box-office hits bringing the wave of Comedy films in Marathi Cinema. Both the actors started their careers from theatre, worked in Marathi and Hindi Films and Television in their careers. Their contribution to Marathi Cinema is immense. OBJECTIVES:

The main objectives of Ashwamedh Kalamanch are as follows:

To promote & propagate Indian arts and culture through various art camps.

To increase awareness about various performing and visual arts.

To encourage children to use their creativity & contribute to arts.

To carry out some projects related to arts for underprivileged children.

Ashwamedh Kalamanch was started by Mr. Deepak Doddamani on 1st August 2010. As you can read from the Mission and Vision statement, it was started to promote Indian Arts and Culture. Ashwamedh Kalamanch did some great projects from August 2010 to Dec. 2013 wiz. Dramas, Competitions, Webseries, Shortfilm and events etc.

Ashwamedh Kalamanch's Save Bird shortfilm was screened at Script ShortFilm Festival in Kochi and Vasundhara Shortfilm Festival in Mumbai. Ashwamedh Kalamanch's Nakoshi Shortfilm was screened in Vasai Mahotsav where it bagged first prize. Ashwamedh Kalamanch created webseries of 10 webisodes in 2011 named Ashwamedh Kalamanch's Hasya Jatra.

Due to high production costs and no income source to keep Ashwamedh Kalamanch sustaining, we decided to close it on Janurary 2013.

On 29th January 2013 with same group of people we started an NGO named 'Ashwamedh Foundation'.

We don't know whether we will revive Ashwamedh Kalamanch, Virar again or not. But you can stay connected with Mr. Deepak Doddamani for further updates about this group.
